Recruiting was the job before it was the business.
Both founders came out of the United States Marine Corps, where an operation does not begin without a written objective, defined constraints, and a stated definition of success. Both spent their service recruiting.
That background produced one observation: most organizations are staffed by a process nobody designed. Roles get opened without agreement on what the person must accomplish. Candidates are assessed on impression rather than evidence. Executives are hired at significant cost and then left to find the terrain alone.
2148 Industries exists to close that gap. We are deliberately small, we take a limited number of engagements at a time, and every one is run by a principal rather than delegated to a research team you never meet.
